A trip to River Hongbao - Marina Bay Floating Platform

The trip in the MRT
Wow! Mum said we're off to River Hongbao (春到河畔)! It's going to be a great trip! I can't wait any longer!

By the way, River Hongbao is located at Marina Bay Floating Platform. There are many New Year Decorations and some performances. I wonder how it'll look like. Hmmm......

Dinner at Suntec City

Wow! The trip to River Hongbao was gorgeous! When we reached there, we were greeted by a massive collection of food from all over Singapore. I saw some ice-cream and I wanted to eat some! Mum agreed. But there was such a long queue! I asked Mum to stay at my place and I rushed to the side to take a closer look. Oh - no wonder! The ice-cream man was playing with his customers! He was shaking the ice-cream up and down (the filling didn't fall out because it was nitrogen ice-cream) and he also gave his customers just the ice-cream stick! He was pretty good at his ice cream sticks - I mean, tricks.

Heading home, in the MRT
After that, we met a GIGANTIC God of Fortune (財神爺). Not bad, but he was a little bit too young to be a 財神爺 (means Grandpa). Some people also touched the ‘money’, revealing that the ‘money’ was not real.

Then, we saw some statues of the Twelve Zodiac Animals (namely the rat (), the ox (), the tiger (), the rabbit (), the dragon (), the snake (), the horse (),  the sheep (), the monkey (), the rooster (), the dog (), and the boar ()). There were also some explanations given by fortune tellers to explain how each person born in that year will behave and how much luck they will receive.

Breakfast at home
Let us continue with the story. We met a huge pagoda (look at the beginning of the story). In front of it were three men - 張飛, 劉備, 關羽. They were very wise and came from ancient China.

There was also a stage. Mum felt that it was a little bit wrong. Why? Because they were playing Malay music!

Geylang si paku Geylang, Geylang si rama-rama... She said, “I just do not understand why.” Then I replied and said, “You do not need to understand why.

There was also a place that explains the meanings of (almost) all the Chinese festivals, including the Lunar New Year. The Lunar New Year is divided into a few parts (important days of the Lunar New Year since Lunar New Year has 16 days) (I am including the 除夕).

Then, we went to a calligraphy stall!
We saw different types of Chinese art everywhere! It was so beautiful.

It was already about 18:15 at that point of time and Mum said it was time for dinner. It was indeed a memorable day for us!
